The conflict began with the primordial battle between Anu and Tathamet. When both beings destroyed one another, the cosmic order was established: Heaven and Hell remained eternally opposed, balanced in power yet never equal.
Nature of Conflict
The struggle manifests across multiple dimensions and timescales. Heaven sends celestial warriors to resist demonic incursion. Hell continuously seeks weakness in divine order. Sanctu becomes battleground for their competing ambitions.
Sanctuary's Central Role
Sanctuary, hidden between Heaven and Hell, represents the ultimate prize. Control of the mortal realm would grant dominion over the cosmic balance. The Worldstone's corruption remains Hell's ultimate goal.
Why It's Endless
Neither good nor evil can be completely annihilated without destroying creation itself. The balance established by Anu and Tathamet's mutual destruction ensures the conflict perpetuates eternally.
