Mephisto is perhaps the most cunning of the Seven Great Evils. Where Diablo commands through terror and Baal through annihilation, Mephisto seduces through promise and poisons through betrayal. His manifestations often appear beautiful or compelling before revealing their true demonic nature. Victims frequently become conscious participants in their own corruption.

Mephisto's realm, Demonimicon, differs fundamentally from other demonic dimensions. Rather than landscapes of torture, Demonimicon presents seductive imagery designed to appeal to mortal weakness. Pleasures, temptations, and corrupted desires manifest as physical reality.

Origins & Essence

Mephisto emerged from one of Tathamet's seven heads—specifically the head representing Hatred. When Tathamet was destroyed, this aspect of demonic nature gained independence and evolved into the powerful entity known as the Lord of Hatred. Mephisto is ancient beyond mortal comprehension.

Mephisto's realm serves as the diplomatic nexus of the Burning Hells. Demon princes negotiate treaties, conspire against rivals, and plot incursions into Sanctuary through Mephisto's domain. The Lord of Hatred has cultivated sophisticated networks of influence throughout creation.
